Men's Shed is dedicated to improving the lives and wellbeing of our members in our community. We provide a welcoming and supportive environment where our members can come together and work on projects that benefit themselves and the community. Repairs & installation of sun chair at Staunton Park
We are pleased to showcase the efforts of eight dedicated members who are hard at work repairing the large sun chair located within the Staunton Park. This iconic sun chair has been a beloved fixture in the park for several years, providing a cozy spot for visitors to relax and enjoy the surroundings. Recently, it became apparent that the seat section needed some attention, prompting our team to step in. With their skills and teamwork, they are not only repairing but also reinstalling the seat to ensure it remains a comfortable and inviting place for everyone to enjoy for years to come.
Bird Tables for Rowan's Hospice
The Shed was recently asked to build and supply a number of bird tables for Rowans Hospice.
The aim is to place a bird table outside each of the ground-floor rooms, giving patients and visitors the opportunity to enjoy watching the daily visits from the birds.

A Whitby Arch for Havant Day Services
The Shed was delighted to create a new wooden arch, known as a Whitby Arch, for Havant Day Services which supports people with learning difficulties.
We were delighted to help by recreating the arch, it gave our members the opportunity to put their woodworking skills to good use, creating a traditional and attractive feature for the Day Services group.
We are always pleased to take on projects that allow the skills and experience of our members to benefit local organisations and the wider community. It was a pleasure to be involved in this project and to create something that can be enjoyed for years to come.
Restoration of Staunton Park Clock
We are undertaking the restoration of the original clock workings which operated the clock above the old stable building of Staunton House. It is believed the clock dates from the early 1800's.
The clock now is electrically powered. The restored workings will be displayed in the reception area of the stable block.
Country Park Benches
We have recently completed a number of wooden country park benches which will be installed around the park for visitors to make use of. A certain number will also be installed at Queen Elizabeth Country Park.
We have made 10 of these sturdy benches ready for use in the summer.
Summerhouse Finial
Recently two of our skilled members created a stunning finial to be mounted on top of a summer house which was very much in need of replacing.
This project showcases the talent and creativity of our Men's Shed members, and we are excited to continue working on more community-driven projects.
Charity Wishing Well for local Asda supermarket
We were pleased to be approached by the Waterlooville branch of Asda to construct a wishing well specifically designed for charity donations. This charming addition was placed in their store, creating an inviting space for customers to contribute to a worthy cause.
Our team is excited to support this initiative and help foster a sense of community through generosity and goodwill.
Fruit and Vegetable Barrow
A Fruit and Vegetable Barrow has been constructed for The Right to Work Group, Storey Garden Centre at the park to display and sell the produce they have grown.
They are a group of people who have learning difficulties and are supervised by dedicated staff.
